What is the Honoree Profile and why is it important?

Throughout the history of aviation and space exploration, the names of the pioneers of flight have become, in many cases, household names like Earhart, Lindbergh, Shepard, Yeager, and Glenn. Yet, each of these aviation trail blazers have stood on the shoulders of tens of thousands of unsung heroes who have designed and built the aircraft, repaired and maintained the engines, kept the airfields operational, and have designed the instrumentation and other related materials that have kept the planes flying and the spacecraft pushing further out into our universe. The Honoree Profile provides you an opportunity to capture for all time the contribution that your Honoree has made to flight and space exploration. Each Honoree Profile will be preserved as part of the National Air and Space Museum collection.
